It’s cold where you are,
And the sky is failing all across America.
Why were you smiling
That afternoon so long ago?
I can only think we must have been happy.
Somehow that helps.
We are still here, after all,
And it is the same world.

We are still here, and it is the same old world, both sides of the border. Like Leonard Woolf's flowers, we can be here long after raving, corrupt, and mendacious politicians, and their odious hirelings, are gone.
