I still can't overcome the feeling that poetry collections are, in a sense, born dead: that they have no readers; that there is no conversation. That's a pessimistic reaction yet also a self-protective urge--an attempt to armor myself against despair. So every reader does count; every single response is a deep breath, is that miracle I've been training myself not to expect. Thank you, to all of you.
